What age are the children you care for?
We care for children between the ages of 3 months and 8 years.
How much time is play and how much time is learning?
We employ holistic play for those in our care.
Holistic play is an approach to child development that engages the whole child—physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative—simultaneously. It emphasizes child-led, open-ended activities that foster curiosity, self-regulation, and well-rounded growth. This approach treats play as a vital, interconnected learning tool rather than a separate activity.
What do you do during school holidays?
During the holidays we operate a limited play scheme with fewer children, reduced hours and less staff.
How are the children fed?
We have an arrangement with the catering facilities at Bolton Low Houses School just next door for lunch meals, paid for by the parents. Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch with them.
Mid morning and mid afternoon, snacks are provided, usually crackers, fruit, cake, something that the children have made. As with lunch, snacks may be provided by the parents.
We ensure a high level of care when preparing snacks and lunches to cater for allergies and intolerances. In our own fully equipped kitchen, we have an oven, fridge, freezer, kettle and two sinks to provide a range of options for the children as well as accommodate those with additional needs.
How are parents kept informed?
